In April of 2016 Sheryl attended the Yoga of the Heart, Cardiac and Cancer Certification, a 10 day, 100+ hour training  with Nischala Joy Devi.

Nischala Joy Devi developed the yoga portion of the Dean Ornish Program for Reversing Heart Disease, and co-founded the award winning Commonwealth Cancer Help Program.  She is the author of two books; The Healing Path of Yoga and the Secret Power of Yoga.  She also created the Abundant Well Being Audio Series.

Sheryl will be sharing what she learned from the training as well as her knowledge of 6+ years of teaching and practicing yoga. Sheryl has her own personal journey with family health challenges that will add a unique understanding to this course.

Sheryl's Bio:

E-RYT-200 (experienced yoga teacher, (200 hour training, 1,000+ hours of teaching)). From the first yoga class I took I was hooked. Being a person who finds it hard to sit still, yoga gave the gift of quiet stillness. This gave me a newfound relationship and comfort with myself. I teach from my heart and believe that yoga is a personal experience for every student. My role is to create a space for every student to find what is inside of them and express that through their practice. I love watching my students grow mentally, physically and spiritually as they learn more and more about themselves through their yoga practices.  I received my Yoga of the Heart Cardiac and Cancer Certification with Nischala Joy Devi with included over 100 hours in the specific application of Yoga for clients with Cardiac, Cancer and other life threatening diseases.  I completed my 200 hour training with Maureen Miller, Yoga NH, in April 2012. My other training includes Thai Yoga (bodywork) 101 and various workshops and classes with Karen Kenney,  Thai Yoga 201 with Shai Plonski of Still Light Center in Toronto Canada,  Yin Yoga training with Josh Summers, TIMBO training with Sue Jones of Yoga Hope, Child Light training as well as workshops with Beryl Binder Birch and Stacey Gibbons.  In 2013 I founded Yoga from the Heart to be able to share my love of yoga and what yoga has done for me. Everyone has experienced some sort of challenging situation in their life that has affected them deeply in one way or another. Through yoga one gets to know themselves better and on that journey to oneself amazing things happen. We all have a power and strength deep inside we just need to learn to lighten up, trust it and tap into it. I see Yoga from the Heart as a gift to the community. It is an honor and a privilege to be able to share yoga with others and I am truly grateful to be able to share my passion and love of yoga.…..anything is possible you just need to believe in yourself. I live in Gilford with my husband Paul and our two dogs Sara and Ellie. I have three grown children. I love spending time walking the dogs, meditating, visiting with friends and family, camping, gardening, hiking and anything else that keeps me active. For any questions regarding my classes or if you want to contact me directly my e-mail is Sheryl@yogafromtheheartnh.com.
