Flow yoga, in which movement is synchronized to the breath, is a term that covers a broad range of yoga classes. This style is sometimes also called vinyasa flow yoga, because of the smooth way that the poses run together and become like a dance. The breath becomes an important component because the teacher will instruct you to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale. In terms of yoga asana, we can interpret this as a connection between movement and breath.
Yoga from the Heart's purpose is to bring our love of yoga to the community of Laconia and surrounding areas. We will hold the space for anyone who comes to practice at Yoga from the Heart to feel comfortable and free to follow their own path on and off the mat.

* Teach breathing techniques and connect breath to movement
* Hold space so that each student feels their practice come alive
Who will benefit from this beginner series?
•The person new to yoga and uncomfortable with a flow class
•The person with an established practice who wants to break the postures down to understand them better
•Any one who is interested in learning about themselves and yoga
This 1 1/2 hour class will begin with a seated meditation focusing on breath control (pranayama). We will work into a short period of gently moving our bodies, which will lead to several restorative postures. Each posture is 5-7 minutes long, where props (bolsters, blankets, blocks) will be used to allow the joints and muscles to completely relax, allowing for a deeper stretch and opening. The session will end with a 40 min. Yoga Nidra (Yoga sleep). Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation that will bring your mind and body to the “space” right before sleep, again, allowing for complete relaxation. You will leave class feeling relaxed and renewed.

Yoga from the Heart
First, we want to thank all of you for your support and for everything that you do for Yoga from the Heart. We know that we are all experiencing the affects of Covid-19 in our own individual ways.
There may be many of you who are not ready to leave your homes yet and that is understandable. We take reopening very seriously. We will do it in a way that is safe and takes into consideration the concerns of everyone in our community.
We have had time to reflect and meditate on reopening and we know that even though we would like to reopen as soon as possible we need time to get to know the universal guidelines from the Governors Office and the guidelines that are specific to our industry.
We anticipate opening Yoga from the Heart again on or around Tuesday, June 16th. We want to have time to prepare the studio for reopening and have written policies and procedures in place.
We will be sending out another E-Mail in a week or so with many more details about re-opening.
Some of the things we have purchased to comply with the guidelines for opening are:
An infrared no touch thermometer
2 Sanitizing cabinets for the blankets (we already had one) so now we have 3 (they have UV light and heat)
Masks and gloves
A UV room cleaner and sanitizer (CDC has not approved UV light for use on Carona Virus but there is literature out there to the effectiveness of UV light so I am doing it as an added precaution)
Alcohol based hand sanitizer
Sanitizing cleaners approved by CDC
Mat Cleaning wipes
Beginning June 1st we will be activating all of the class passes that we put on hold on March 17th. Classes will still be held online until we open but we will be charging for the online classes just as we would be charging in the studio. If this creates a hardship for anyone please contact Sheryl directly at Sheryl@yogafromtheheartnh.com. For those of you who have class passes, they will start where they were on March 17th.
We have been offering free classes with the option of donating for classes since March 17th. We have still had our regular monthly bills to pay and have made the purchases listed above to keep our studio safe when it reopens. We have not qualified for any of the grants offered through the stimulus packages so we want to thank all of you who graciously donated during past 2 1/2 months. We also appreciate all of your support as we navigate the path of reopening.
We want to be clear, any of you who is not comfortable practicing at the studio, it is ok. We want you to feel safe and comfortable. We will be offering in studio and online classes when we reopen.
