We are reopening for live classes on June 16th at 6:00AM
Flow yoga, in which movement is synchronized to the breath, is a term that covers a broad range of yoga classes. This style is sometimes also called vinyasa flow yoga, because of the smooth way that the poses run together and become like a dance. The breath becomes an important component because the teacher will instruct you to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale. In terms of yoga asana, we can interpret this as a connection between movement and breath.
This 1 1/2 hour class will begin with a seated meditation focusing on breath control (pranayama). We will work into a short period of gently moving our bodies, which will lead to several restorative postures. Each posture is 5-7 minutes long, where props (bolsters, blankets, blocks) will be used to allow the joints and muscles to completely relax, allowing for a deeper stretch and opening. The session will end with a 40 min. Yoga Nidra (Yoga sleep). Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation that will bring your mind and body to the “space” right before sleep, again, allowing for complete relaxation. You will leave class feeling relaxed and renewed.
Yoga from the Heart's purpose is to bring our love of yoga to the community of Laconia and surrounding areas. We will hold the space for anyone who comes to practice at Yoga from the Heart to feel comfortable and free to follow their own path on and off the mat.
